各國文化對整形（plastic surgery）的態度不盡相同，有些認為應崇尚自然美，有些認為稀鬆平常。台灣現今常用「進廠維修」來委婉地指稱美容手術（cosmetic surgery），甚至把微整形（micro-cosmetic surgery）視為美容保養的步驟之一。
》要和外國朋友聊台灣的整形現象，你可以這麼說：
• Cosmetic surgery is popular in Taiwan.
整形美容手術在台灣相當熱門。
• It’s quite cheap to have cosmetic surgery done in Taiwan.
在台灣做整形手術相當平價。
• In Taiwan, nose jobs, eyelid surgery and skin whitening are the most popular procedures.
在台灣，隆鼻、割雙眼皮和美白是最熱門的手術。
》要勸朋友不需整形，你可以這麼說：
• I think you’re pretty just the way you are.
我覺得你這樣就很美了。
• I don’t think you need cosmetic surgery.
我覺得你不需要整形。
• You should be more confident about your appearance.
你應該對自己的外表有自信一點。
